Samsung is reportedly trying to remove the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6 front unpacked images

We’re just days away from Samsung Galaxy Unpacked on July 10, and the tech giant has now gotten as close as possible to pre-announcing its news — sending out reported takedown requests on social network X, where a leaker published alleged images of the widely anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 foldable devices.

Evan Blass, a well-known industry insider, released what appeared to be marketing images for the company’s upcoming devices last week, adding to the torrent of details that have been pouring online ahead of its Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris on July 10. .

Samsung’s apparent response came on Monday, when Blass released an image of more than a dozen emails from Twitter Support citing takedown notices received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

The move, which effectively requires content to be pulled on copyright grounds, often has the effect of confirming the truth of a leak, as companies often argue that the copyrighted images are theirs and were published without permission.

Samsung representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Samsung’s moves mark the latest twist ahead of the company’s next big product launch, which is expected to include improved foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. The smartphones, respectively, are not expected to sell as widely as the company’s flagship Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Still, they offer Samsung an opportunity to draw attention to its more innovative efforts, especially in contrast to Apple’s expected September upgrade to the iPhone 16 lineup.

The Korean tech giant is expected to use its event to also announce the already teased Galaxy Ring wearable body sensor, which is expected to take on products like the $299 Oura Ring. Samsung is also rumored to announce upgraded smartwatches at the event, including a “premium” version similar to the $799 Apple Watch Ultra.

Meanwhile, Samsung and its partner retailers are gearing up for the upcoming event by offering deals to save up to $1,500 if people reserve a device ahead of its Unpacked event. The company is also offering lower prices on existing Galaxy Flip 5 through various mobile operators.
